Playmates Childrens Day Nursery Provision for Children aged 2-5 years.

Play underpins all learning and development for young children. Playmates Preschool Unit provides a happy, active, fun and safe learning environment for all 2 to 5 year old children.

Maximum Fun, Maximum Choice

This "freeflow" way of playing inside and outside, as recommended by OFSTED, together with our child initiated play approach, supported by Nursery lead activities blends really well and is a fun, natural way to learn and lets your child progress at his or her own pace.

Curriculum & Learning Standards

Your child's sessions with us are full of opportunities for learning and play. We're registered to deliver the government's Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. This means that your child's time with us is carefully planned and supported so that we meet all the standards to ensure they learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe.

Every day your child can explore exciting activities and well-chosen toys, equipment and books in our inside and outside areas. Because children learn at different rates and in different ways, our team will be carefully observing, planning and supporting to make sure the three key learning areas - Communication and Language; Physical Development; and Personal, Social and Emotional development - are covered in the best way, at the right speed for them.

As your child grows, they'll discover the four specific areas of learning - Literacy, Maths, Understanding of the World, Art and Design - in a way that's suited to their individual needs and interests.

Key Persons

Your child will have an individual Key Person allocated to them. Your Key Person will help your child to settle into nursery, observe their development as well as plan for their learning and be there to support any questions you as a parent/carer may have.

Learning Journey

You will receive regular feedback about your child's day verbally. Your child will also have their own individual Learning Journal.

We also carry out a formal EYFS progress check at between 2-3 years old.

School Ready

When it's time to think about school, we will help your child prepare and ensure your chosen school receives information from our Nursery about their development to promote a smooth transition.
